About The Healing Nation
In commemoration of The Methodist Church in Singapore’s 140th anniversary this year, Methodist Welfare Services is spearheading the social outreach themed “The Healing Nation” to demonstrate God’s love in healing spirit, mind, heart, and body through our acts of service and love to the distressed and disadvantaged Singaporeans.
The Healing Nation has two main initiatives:
- Healing Time
- Healing Soul
Healing Time
In the first initiative Healing Time, all Methodists are invited to pledge 35 volunteer hours each in 2025, aiming for a total of 1.4 million hours to serve the community in need.
- Do my volunteer hours at KKMC or with organisations affiliated with KKMC count towards my pledge for Healing Time?
Yes, the hours you spend in KKMC’s own Outreach and Social Concerns efforts — such as Project 5 Loaves and 2 Fishes, and Breakfast with Love, among others — can count towards your pledge.
Our Outreach and Social Concerns Committee will also curate and highlight opportunities for us to volunteer and serve with organisations we have ties with, such as The Girls’ Brigade, The Boys’ Brigade, and our affiliate, Kampong Kapor Community Services.
- Where can I find other volunteer opportunities to pledge Healing Time?
To explore other volunteer opportunities, visit The Healing Nation website and create an account. After pledging your volunteer hours and filling up a short questionnaire, the platform will match social cause opportunities to your indicated interests and passions, and email them to you for your consideration and participation.
Healing Soul
The second initiative Healing Soul aims to raise $1.4 million to bless 1,000 families or individuals in distress or are disadvantaged with $1,400 each. You may make your donations towards this on The Healing Nation platform.
