Each year in September, Women’s Society for Christian Service (WSCS) women participate in the two spiritual disciplines of fasting and praying during the Week of Prayer and Self-Denial.
The Week of Prayer and Self-Denial has been practised for decades by WSCS women. The purpose of engaging in the spiritual disciplines of fasting and praying is to grow a deeper relationship with the Lord. In the fast-paced world we live in, setting aside this week to commune with the Lord is essential for our spiritual well-being.
