Questions

For Personal Reflection or Group Discussion

  1. In our own spiritual lives, we often treat the “symptoms” (stress, anger, or difficult circumstances) rather than the “root cause” (the state of our heart). How can we practice “pausing” to ask God for a right diagnosis of our hearts before we rush to ask Him for a specific cure?

  2. Jesus’ initial silence toward the Canaanite woman is described not as a rejection, but as an “invitation to lean in.” Have you ever experienced a season where God seemed silent? Looking back, did that silence lead you to “give up,” or did it eventually help your faith grow more persistent and personal?

  3. The sermon notes that the woman moved from asking Jesus for a favor to kneeling in worship—moving from seeing Him as a “resource” to seeing Him as “Lord.” What are some practical ways we can shift our prayer lives from simply presenting a “to-do list” for God to truly seeking His presence and honoring His authority, regardless of the outcome?
