The journey of godly manhood is one of faith, responsibility and spiritual growth. Our church librarians invite you to explore the following books and be encouraged in your walk as a man who is a disciple of Christ.

1. Hazards of Being a Man: Overcoming 12 Challenges All Men Face

The problems men face today are not new; they have been around since the time of the Bible. Insensitivity, lust, individualism, absence, manipulation, unresolved anger. Jeffrey E. Miller challenges men to acknowledge their common struggles and weaknesses to help them become better men. Hazards of Being a Man focuses on a different Old Testament personality with a unique problem in every chapter. Miller tackles these tough and pervasive issues to help men realize that these hazards are not unique to them, but that they are issues that all men face and can overcome. This honest and freeing book is perfect for men’s small groups, pastors, counselors, and individuals.

2. Disciplines of a Godly Man

Disciplines of a Godly Man is filled with godly advice aimed at helping men grow in the disciplines of prayer, integrity, marriage, leadership, worship, purity, and more. With biblical wisdom, memorable illustrations, and engaging study questions, this practical guide will empower men to take seriously the call to godliness and direct their energy toward the things that matter most.

3. The Man in the Mirror: Solving the 24 Problems Men Face

In this book, author Patrick Morley invites men to look in the mirror, identify the problem areas, and make the changes necessary to love God, themselves, and others better. With relevant, practical, and thoughtful advice, this book discusses twenty-four different topics that men face, including: identity, relationship, money, time, temperament and integrity. If life’s demands are constantly pressuring you to run faster and jump higher, this book is for you. The Man in the Mirror offers a life-changing look at how to trade the rat race for the rewards of godly manhood.

4. Disciplines of a Godly Young Man

Laying out the challenge to be disciplined, godly, and sold-out for Jesus, the authors talk about purity in your thought-life, cultural pressure, and perseverance as a Christian. Let father and son Kent and Carey Hughes help you live a life of integrity and become the man God is calling you to be.
