The church librarians have shortlisted these biographies and we hope that the testimonies of these Christians will help inspire and strengthen your commitment to God.

1. Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael by Elisabeth Elliot

A Chance to Die is a vibrant portrayal of Amy Carmichael, an Irish missionary and writer who spent fifty-three years in south India without furlough. There she became known as “Amma,” or “mother,” as she founded the Dohnavur Fellowship, a refuge for underprivileged children. 2. Becoming Dallas Willard: The Formation of a Philosopher, Teacher, and Christ Follower by Gary W. Moon

4. A Biography of John Sung by Leslie T. Lyall

His ministry was just 15 years, but produced fruit that have lasted to this day. What was the secret of his success, and how did he come to be used so powerfully by God? This new 2015 edition of A Biography of John Sung commemorates the eightieth anniversary of Sung ‘s visits to Singapore in 1935, and includes never-before-published accounts and testimonies of how the great work of God he ignited continues nearly a century later.

5. William Shellabear: A Biography by Robert A Hunt

This biography brings to light the triumphs and tribulations of a man who was a soldier, missionary, founder of the printing press that later grew to become what is now MPH, Malay scholar and one of the founders of Kampong Kapor Methodist Church.
