We’re looking for a Youth Ministry and Young Adults Ministry Lay Ministry Staff.
Purpose of the role:
To nurture and disciple youth (ages 13–18) and young adults (ages 19–35) in their spiritual growth, integrate them into the life of the church, and develop them as Christ-centred leaders and followers.
Responsibilities include:
1. Discipleship and teaching
- Plan and lead regular Bible studies, devotionals, and teaching sessions.
- Mentor and disciple youth and young adults individually or in small groups.
- Encourage spiritual growth and equip young believers to live out their faith.
- 2. Ministry planning & execution
- Organize regular gatherings (e.g. fellowship nights, camps, retreats, outreach events).
- Develop yearly ministry plans and calendars in alignment with the church’s vision.
- Manage the ministry’s budget and resources effectively.
3. Relationship building
- Build strong relationships with youth, young adults, and their families.
- Provide pastoral care, support, and counsel where needed.
- Work closely with parents, leaders, and volunteers to build a supportive community.
4. Leadership development
- Identify, train, and mentor youth and young adult leaders.
- Encourage involvement in ministry service within and beyond the church.
5. Integration & collaboration
- Integrate youth and young adults into the wider church body.
- Collaborate with other ministry teams (e.g. worship, outreach, missions).
- Represent the youth and young adults’ perspectives in church planning and visioning.
Requirements:
Spiritual & Personal Qualifications:
- A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Strong sense of calling to serve and minister to youth and young adults.
- Alignment with the church’s statement of faith and values.
- Integrity, humility, and emotional maturity.
Professional Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with youth and/or young adults (paid or volunteer).
- Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to connect with local youth and young adults across different backgrounds.
- Formal theological education is preferred but not essential.
Administrative & Organisational Skills:
- Able to plan, manage, and execute events effectively.
- Competent in using digital tools and social media for ministry engagement.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
