Today, we celebrate Seniors Sunday. It serves as a reminder of the rich wisdom, love and faith that our seniors show every day.
They stand as a testament of God working in their lives and how they choose to tirelessly serve Him.
Let’s find out more about how our Seniors gather to stay connected throughout the week!
Thursday’s Seniors Fellowship
Once a month or bi-monthly, we gather for Seniors Fellowship on a Thursday, where we learn from talks on Biblical topics, wellness and health or go on outings and nature walks. It’s a time for fellowship, learning and sharing life together in meaningful ways. We also welcome anyone regardless of age to join in!
Friday’s Seniors Corner
On Friday mornings at 9am, our church warmly welcomes seniors from the Jalan Besar and Little India neighbourhoods to the Seniors Corner.
This lively gathering draws primarily Chinese-speaking seniors and features breakfast, exercise, and a spirited game of bingo. Occasionally, we also host arts and crafts workshops and educational talks.
Once a year, after the Seniors Corner session, seniors open to the gospel are warmly invited to stay for Alpha class, where they can explore faith and Christianity in a relaxed and open environment. May God open their hearts to receive Him!
New! Sunday’s Seniors Hangout
We are also delighted to share about our newest initiative – our Sunday “Seniors Hangout”. After the 10am worship service, seniors are warmly invited to stay on in the Social Hall, enjoy snacks lovingly prepared by fellow seniors, and have a good chat while catching up with friends from church.
We Welcome New Seniors!
Lastly, if you know any seniors in the church or wider community, do invite them to participate in any of our gatherings. These gatherings are designed to enrich our journey with the Lord and with each other.
As we have been encouraged, let us encourage others to participate. May we welcome them in the Lord with great joy!
A Prayer for Our Seniors
As we observe Seniors Sunday, let us take a moment to thank God for our seniors. We pray for their health, strength, and continued spiritual growth.
May God bless them with peace, joy, and a deepening sense of purpose as they navigate this golden season of their lives.
We pray that they would feel the love, respect, and support of our church family, and that they would continue to be a source of wisdom and inspiration to those around them.
Amen.
