KKMC holds combined Church Prayer Time for missions, bringing congregations together (virtually) in prayer and worship.
Twice a year, KKMC holds a combined Church Prayer Time (CPT) for missions that bring our English, Mandarin and Tamil congregations together in prayer and worship.
Because of COVID-19, the combined CPT on 2 September 2020 was held online using Zoom. Though it took some coordination to plan a tri-lingual worship session online, there was a buzz of excitement to see everyone’s faces given that mission trips have been suspended for the year. This was especially so with our three overseas-based missionaries, Rev. Samuel Abraham, Brother Manickam in India and Rev. Pisut from Thailand.
Despite the circumstances, our missionaries remain steadfast and strong. Rev. Samuel Abraham expressed his gratitude when he realised that over 50 people were praying for him and his ministry thousands of kilometres away.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity… I didn’t think of the enormity of the [combined congregation]”, Rev. Abraham said.
Those who joined were humbled by this experience. Donald Ting commented that it was a good and meaningful prayer time where the church came together as one in worship and prayer. Stefanie Mok further added that this online session gave the congregation a chance to hear about the situation in both Lahu and India villages. Also, amongst the congregation included first-timers like Ligitha Stanly who was pleased to have this opportunity to meet the overseas missionaries and to spend time with them.
Prayer is a vital part of a Christian life, and such intercessory prayer time for missionaries allow us to bear each other’s burden and to grow in spiritual strength.
Let us continue to keep our missionaries in our prayers as Ephesians 6:18 reminds us: Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
