Talk & Sharing on Dementia

Talk & Sharing on Dementia

Posted on 29 Oct 2024

As Singapore’s population gets older, health concerns have become something many of us are talking about. One of the more common issues we may come across is dementia, whether it affects a family member or someone we know. Dementia can vary in its severity, from mild to more serious, and can bring many challenges for both the person affected and their loved ones. This talk, organised by Kampong Kapor Methodist Church Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry and Kampong Kapor Community Services, is here to help us better understand what dementia is. There will also be a Q&A session for anyone who would like to learn more or ask any questions.

Topics:

  • Facts about dementia in Singapore
  • Signs and symptoms of dementia
  • Tips for better communication with people living with dementia

Date: Saturday, 23 November 2024
Time: 10am to 12pm
Venue: KKMC Social Hall, L1 (1 Kampong Kapor Road, Singapore 208673)
Speaker: Mr. Eric Hu, Manager, SG Cares Volunteer Centre @ Jalan Besar, operated by Kampong Kapor Community Services

About our Speaker: With a background in psychology, Eric has been working as both a professional and a volunteer in the social service and healthcare sectors for the past 16 years. Passionate about supporting ageing-in-place for seniors in Singapore, he spent several years working with seniors, including those living with dementia, in both residential and community care settings.
