Dear KKMC Members and Friends,

God’s grace and peace be with you and your loved ones. I am very glad

to share with us the following:

Annual KKMC Hymn Festival

Praise God for blessing our Annual KKMC Hymn Festival held last Sunday via video recording at our KKMC Sermons YouTube Channel. I want to thank everyone (our children, youth and adults) who played a part, no matter how small, in helping put the recording together – you know who you are – for your faithful service has led to God being glorified and people being edified to trust Jesus more.

Annual Missions Fortnight

Our Annual Missions Fortnight will be held over this and next Sunday, where we will be reminded that, just as God has “A Heart for the World”, so should we as His disciples! May we listen and

learn from the sermons preached, the songs sung, the prayers said, and be God’s bold witnesses along the streets and across the seas.

General Conference

The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS) will be holding the 12th Session of the General Conference (GC) from 7–11 Sep and 3–4 Dec. This regular session of the GC is held once every 4

years and attended by elected delegates from the three Annual Conferences (CAC, ETAC and TRAC). I am privileged to one of the Substantive Clergy Delegates for TRAC. As it is important, may all of us at KKMC join with other Methodist to pray for the:

  • Elections of major office-holders such as the Bishop, and Chairpersons of various Councils that oversee the church’s work over the next four years
  • Decisions made on behalf of the MCS, such as matters of church law and policy, including amendments to The Book of Discipline, which are debated and discussed before being accepted
  • Delivery of reports on work done the last four years and the plans for the coming four years and beyond
  • Good health, protection and alertness of the delegates and supporting staff, that the proceedings may be carried out smoothly and thoroughly

Special Talks by Bishop Emeritus Dr Wee Boon Hup

Special Talks for KKMC by Bishop Emeritus Wee Boon Hup on “Church Life: Being an Authentic Christian Community” will be held via ZOOM over three Thursdays, 17 & 24 Sep and 1 Oct from 8pm to 9.15pm. He will speak on “Community Genesis”, “Community Challenge” and “Community Development” respectively. My prayer is that many of us will sign up for these talks as we will surely benefit from them. Let us do so at our church website under “Events”.

Closing Thought

I want to thank the team of church members and staff led by Salmon Sim for their wonderful example of faithful service as they worked on the new Church Website and re-vitalising our Church Facebook page. They have worked very hard over a short period of time to get things up and

running; and I am very sure that they will say that they did so only by the grace of God.

Following on from their example, may all of us at KKMC continue to grow and be “Faithful Disciples in Authentic Community engaged in Loving Outreach and Bold Witness to the Glory of God”! And we do so as God blesses our efforts and helps us to bear fruit, just as Psalm 90:17 teaches:

“Let the favour of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands—O prosper the work of our hands!”

God Bless and stay safe

Ps Kenneth
