Stay updated with Pastor Kenneth’s latest pastoral letter to the congregation.

Dear KKMC Members and Friends,

God’s grace and peace be with you and your loved ones.

COVID-19 It has been about two months since we entered Phase 2. We must surely give thanks to God for the lowering number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore. We are mindful, I am sure, of the hard work put in by the many brave and dedicated front-line medical and governmental agency staff as they care for those who are ill, and strive to keep the rest of us safe. Let us continue to pray for God’s wisdom and mercy to be upon all of them as they continue to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. We also remember the governments of all the other countries, especially those severely affected by COVID-19.

Evangelism Sunday on 16 Aug For our English Congregation, we observe Evangelism Sunday on 16 Aug where we are reminded that we are Ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor 5:20). And, as Christ’s Ambassadors, we represent God in this world and help others to experience the love He brings to all and to acknowledge Him in their lives. Click here to watch a short video report of the ministry of our Witness & Evangelism Committee over the last year and even during the COVID-19 pandemic. May all of us continue to be bearers of the Good News of Jesus Christ by our words and our deeds!

The Annual KKMC Hymn Festival Worship Service on 30 Aug

For this year, the Hymn Festival will take place on Sunday, 30 August, via video recording at “KKMC Sermons YouTube Channel”. The theme of this year’s Hymn Festival is “Authentic Community” reflecting the focus for our church. Please help pray for all who are currently involved in recording the songs, the music, etc, that will make up the video recording. As we view the Hymn Festival, the best way to really participate is to join in the responsive readings, prayers and hymns/songs. My prayer is that God may be glorified and His church at KKMC be edified by the Hymn Festival.

Special Talks for KKMC by Bishop Emeritus Wee Boon Hup We have invited Bishop Emeritus (BE) Wee to share on the topic of “Church Life: Being an Authentic Christian Community”. He will address us via ZOOM over three Thursdays, 17 & 24 Sep and 1 Oct from 8pm to 9.15pm. At every talk, BE Wee will address the topic for the night with two(2) 20 to 25mins sessions, and each session will be followed by a time for Q&A. He will address the following topics:

  • 17 Sep: Community Genesis – Where does the movement towards community originate?
  • 24 Sep: Community Challenge – Often ‘community’ does not feel like one when we see conflicts between groups and individual personalities within it. What is the basic problem? What is the key to overcoming it?
  • 1 Oct: Community Development – What are the spiritual practices that will develop an authentic Christian community?

Do plan to sign up when the registration details for these talks are made known.

Pledges for Financial Year of August 2020 till July 2021 We thank those who have already submitted your Pledge cards or completed the online form. For the rest, as best as we are able to in light of current circumstances, do prayerfully determine your pledge and send in the completed Pledge Card to the church office or complete the online form found here by the end of August 2020.

Devotional Services of Prayer (DSOP) and the Sacrament of Holy Communion A reminder that we are now holding DSOPs at 8am & 10am for the English Congregation, at 2pm for the Mandarin Congregation and 5.30pm for the Tamil Congregation, with a maximum of 50 persons at each Service. On 23 Aug, we will continue to conduct the Sacrament of Holy Communion. For those of us who would like to participate in it, the pre-packed elements of the wafer and the juice can be collected from Communion trays placed at the back of the Sanctuary as we enter the Sanctuary. The elements are to only be consumed at the pews when directed by the Pastor administering the Sacrament. Do first book a slot if you wish to attend any of our DSOPs, and we look forward to meeting those of us who are coming.

On Sunday, 30 Aug, we will hold a normal DSOP. From September onwards, the Sacrament of Holy Communion will only be conducted on the first two Sundays of each month, with the remaining Sundays being normal DSOPs.

Closing Prayer As we continue with the uncertainty that the new normal which COVID-19 has brought into our lives, my prayer is we will always remember and gladly declare that our God:

“is able to keep you from falling, and to make you stand without blemish in the presence of his glory with rejoicing, to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 24&25)

God Bless and stay safe

Ps Kenneth
